Description of problem: Nepali also uses Devanagari as it's writing script. And there are some features of Devanagari that only Nepali uses. For the example the pareli glyph. the pareli glyph is used Nepali widely where Hindi and Sanskrit uses र् । For example: Garyo in Nepali means done. To write garyo in standard Devangari it is written as गर्यो it is correct but the Nepali uses a special glyph for र्. All popular fonts in Windows like Mangal, and fonts from CDAC, Sanskrit fonts supports this except Lohit Devangari, so it is now time to support the pareli glyph.

--- Comment #2 from Pravin Satpute psatpute@redhat.com 2010-11-01 02:25:24 EDT --- use U+0931 Ra Nukta for pareli glyph (eyelash reph)
type "shift+j d /" for eyelash reph, this is used in Marathi language as well
Unicode reference: In Unicode 5.0, Section-9.1 the rules R5 and R5a allow both of these methods. R5 allows [0931+094d] in conformance with ISCII and R5a allows [0930+094d+ZWJ] for compatibility with Unicode 2.0.

--- Comment #5 from Ujjwol ujjwol@fedoraproject.org 2010-11-01 02:40:12 EDT --- So the use made by other fonts like Mangal is not standard as Unicode 5.0 clearly says half form is represented as "Eyelash RA". Thanks man!

--- Comment #6 from Pravin Satpute psatpute@redhat.com 2010-11-01 03:04:16 EDT --- Both is allowed in Unicode, actually it should be 0931 ऱ + 094d ् , In ISCII we are using it from 1988, but Unicode made mess and added another sequence in Unicode 2.0 and then again added ISCII one. In Fedora we are only supporting one and recommend everyone to use only this sequence.
There is already lots of problem with ZWJ/ZWNJ, They are not allowed in IDN as well.
