Bug ID: 2279802 Summary: harfbuzz-devel package delivers a broken harfbuzz-config.cmake Product: Fedora Version: 40 OS: Linux Status: NEW Component: harfbuzz Keywords: Regression Severity: high Assignee: pnemade@redhat.com Reporter: cquike@arcor.de QA Contact: extras-qa@fedoraproject.org CC: i18n-bugs@lists.fedoraproject.org, klember@redhat.com, moceap@hotmail.com, pnemade@redhat.com Target Milestone: --- Classification: Fedora
When trying to compile a cmake-based project that tries to find harfbuzz I get the following:
CMake Error at /usr/lib64/cmake/harfbuzz/harfbuzz-config.cmake:1: Parse error. Expected a command name, got unquoted argument with text "@PACKAGE_INIT@". Call Stack (most recent call first): CMakeLists.txt:316 (find_package)
Indeed, looking at /usr/lib64/cmake/harfbuzz/harfbuzz-config.cmake from the harfbuzz-devel package, it seems that there are some placeholders that have not been filled:
$ cat /usr/lib64/cmake/harfbuzz/harfbuzz-config.cmake @PACKAGE_INIT@
set_and_check(HARFBUZZ_INCLUDE_DIR "@PACKAGE_INCLUDE_INSTALL_DIR@") ...
This file looks completely different in F39, although in that case it ships with an older version 8.2.1. In Debian trixie, which also ships harfbuzz 8.3.0 like F40, te file seems to have the same structure as in F40 but with the placeholders filled and indeed the cmake-based project works fine there.
Reproducible: Always
