[Fedora-i18n-bugs] [Bug 908570] New: cinnamon keyboard applet: cannot activate IMEs and ibus IME symbols not rendering
by Red Hat Bugzilla
Product: Fedora
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=908570
Bug ID: 908570
Summary: cinnamon keyboard applet: cannot activate IMEs and
ibus IME symbols not rendering
Product: Fedora
Version: 18
Component: ibus
Severity: unspecified
Priority: unspecified
Reporter: petersen(a)redhat.com
Description of problem:
This might be an issue with the cinnamon keyboard indicator
but it would be nice to get it working with ibus IMEs.
The gnome config is shared and the IMEs are listed (without symbols
rendering) but can't be activated.
How reproducible:
100%
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start cinnamon session
2. enable ibus with im-chooser
3. add some IME in ibus-setup or gnome-control-center
eg Japanese (Anthy) or Chinese (libpinyin)
4. restart desktop to get ibus running fully (seems imsettings not
working in cinnamon over gnome-settings-daemon)
Actual results:
Keyboard applets appears including ibus IMEs
from gnome config but their icon symbols are not
rendered correctly, and IMEs can't be activated
or deactivated from the applet. They can from
the ibus applet.
Expected results:
IME input source selection to work from the keyboard applet indicator.

How reproducible:
When used in Abiword or LibreOffice Writer.
Actual results:
In LibreOffice:
Letters are cut vertically. However when printed to pdf it becomes better.
In Abiword it creates very large vertical line on cursor, otherwise font

In both cases typing is very unpleasent. Which makes it difficult to
concentrate on the work.
Expected results:
Neatness. This font has a great potential.

[Fedora-i18n-bugs] [Bug 981475] New: Improper glyph names in Lohit fonts

For purposes of text extraction from PDF files, glyphs should be named in
accordance with Adobe Glyph Naming convention
(http://www.adobe.com/devnet/opentype/archives/glyph.html). Most glyphs in
Lohit fonts follow this convention properly, but some do not. I did not do an
extensive review, but I noticed several occurances of glyph names like:
u0919_u094D.half_u0915_u094D.half.half
Which is wrong, since step 1 of the mapping algorithm in the above link will
drop the part of glyph name after the first occurence of a peroid, so only
u0919_u094D will remain which is assume is not what is wanted here. A proper
name would then be:
u0919_u094D_u0915_u094D.half.half.half
or something like that (the part after the peroid is completely ignored, so it
can be anything).

[Fedora-i18n-bugs] [Bug 624158] New: Idea for setting individual fallback language
by Red Hat Bugzilla

Summary: Idea for setting individual fallback language

Summary: Idea for setting individual fallback language
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: medium

Component: system-config-language

QAContact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: psatpute(a)redhat.com,
i18n-bugs(a)lists.fedoraproject.org, nkumar(a)redhat.com
Classification: Fedora
Description of problem:
system-config-language only sets one language, but does not give the user the
possibility to set an individual fallback language. But this would be
appreciated not to fall back to English per default. In the case of Low German
(nds) for example it does not make any sense to fallback to English but to
German (de).
An example for this functionality could be ubuntus language-selector for GNOME
desktops. (https://launchpad.net/language-selector)
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
How reproducible:
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
Actual results:
Expected results:
It would be nice, if system-config-language would be able to set individual
fallback languages. (compare ubuntus language-selector)

[Fedora-i18n-bugs] [Bug 983979] New: yum doesn't remove no longer needed packages with langpacks
by Red Hat Bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=983979
Bug ID: 983979
Summary: yum doesn't remove no longer needed packages with
langpacks
Product: Fedora
Version: 19
Component: yum-langpacks
Severity: low
Priority: unspecified
Assignee: notting(a)redhat.com
Reporter: yoursdearboy(a)gmail.com
QA Contact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: i18n-bugs(a)lists.fedoraproject.org,
james.antill(a)redhat.com, notting(a)redhat.com,
petersen(a)redhat.com, pnemade(a)redhat.com
Description of problem:
yum doesn't remove packages with langpacks that no longer needed by any other
package.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
0.3.1-2.fc19
How reproducible:
always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install any package with deps that have langpacks (e. g. libreoffice-writer
has mythes dependency with mythes-%s langpacks)
2. Remove this package
Actual results:
Dependencies with langpacks won't be erased
Expected results:
All leftover dependencies should be erased
Additional info:
For example: if I install libreoffice-writer it pulls mythes and language packs
mythes-en, mythes-ru. If I delete libreoffice-writer package mythes won't be
erased.
As I understand it happens because packages mythes-ru, mythes-en installs "by
user" and have mythes dependency.
