other applications
Product: Fedora
Version: 17
Platform: Unspecified
OS/Version: Unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: unspecified
Priority: unspecified
Component: ibus-european-table
AssignedTo: apatil(a)redhat.com
ReportedBy: apeter(a)redhat.com

Description of problem:
Try to input on any editor using English typing booster. Without completing the
input (ie, not selecting any options from the drop down list), move to any
other application/editor, and you can see the drop down list appears in that
application/editor. Again when you move back to the original editor, you can
see the drop down list, but in some other position. To explain better have
attached screenshots and steps to reproduce it is below.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
english-typing-booster-0.0.2-1.fc17.noarch
How reproducible:
Always when using english-typing-booster
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an editor, eg: gedit and start typing a word.
2. Without completing the word, move to another application say nautilus or
terminal
3. You can see the drop down list in the current application
4. Go back to gedit again, you can see the drop down list but in a different
postion.
Actual results:
Explained above
Expected results:
The drop down list should remain in the editor only.

So this is a problem with eclipse-nls. Changing component.

Yeah, seems to be a bad formatted translation string. I hoped someone with a
little more spare time then me currently could figure out what string that was
from the backtrace and fix it. Maybe I could do it next week if noone steps in.
--- Additional comment from greubel(a)nkey.de on 2010-11-24 01:30:54 EST ---
If it helps: it occurs any time, when some entry in the error log appear (or
maybe also disappear - not tested). For example, if you compile a C Makefile
project which has some warnings (unused variables, etc.)

I haven't had a chance to reproduce the problem yet, but does anyone want to
try the updated lang packs to see if they fix the problem?
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=2631446
You'll need to grab the base rpm:
eclipse-nls-3.6.0.v20100814043401-1.fc15.noarch.rpm
plus the 'de' rpm:
eclipse-nls-de-3.6.0.v20100814043401-1.fc15.noarch.rpm
--- Additional comment from sflaniga(a)redhat.com on 2010-11-29 02:26:52 EST ---
Another build, basically the same as the last one:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=206810
Again, you'll need to grab the base eclipse-nls rpm:
http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/eclipse-nls/3.6.0.v20100814043...
plus the eclipse-nls-de rpm:
http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/eclipse-nls/3.6.0.v20100814043...

Installed using the recommended command, started eclipse, rebuild a project
which contains warnings (CDT).
eclipse-nls-de-3.6.0.v20100814043401-2.fc14.noarch solves the problem for me.
Thank you.

Completed Simplified Chinese po
Description of problem:
The GUI of fonts-tweak-tool remains unlocalized on user desktop. As a tool
specifically for a given language, it had better have a localized interface.
There's no access from Fedora Transifex to address the localization work of
fonts-tweak-tool. Translator has to go github and grab the latest pot to create
or update po.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
0.0.5-1.fc17
How reproducible:
100%
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download fonts-tweak-tool from F17 repo
2. Launch the tool in a non-English desktop environment
3. Observe the interface
Actual results:
The interface displays English.
Translators have to go github to grab pot to start translation
Expected results:
The interface displays the preferred language set by user.
Translators can start working on translations on Fedora Transifex, as other
Fedora component.
Additional info:
Attachment is the completed simplified Chinese po file.

Description of problem:
I think this is problem is fixed in ibus-1.5pre (ie in F17)
but this problem exists for F16 at least I think (probably F15 too?).

1. start gnome desktop session with ibus running
2. change xkb layout options in gnome-control-center
eg swap position of Ctrl and Caps, say or Alt and Super keys...
3. switch between applications
Actual results:
3. The xkb options no longer work after getting a new ibus context
and the actual keyboard layout reverts to the original one in (1.)
Expected results:
3. ibus to preserve and respect the gnome xkb settings.
Additional info:
Maybe hard to fix in current 1.4?
Is it possible to backport the new xkb code from 1.5 say?
