[Fedora-i18n-bugs] [Bug 890353] New: Arrow keys and Insert Delete Home End PgUp and PgDown not working after ibus update.
by Red Hat Bugzilla
Product: Fedora
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=890353
Bug ID: 890353
Summary: Arrow keys and Insert Delete Home End PgUp and PgDown
not working after ibus update.
Product: Fedora
Version: 17
Component: ibus
Severity: high
Priority: unspecified
Reporter: slymidnight(a)yahoo.com
Description of problem:
System updated ibus packages to a newer version and this caused the arrow keys
and some other navigation keys to stop working as expected.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Non-working versions of packages that were all updated at the same time when
bug manifested itself:
ibus.x86_64 0:1.4.99.20121109-9.fc17
ibus-gnome3.x86_64 0:1.4.99.20121109-9.fc17
ibus-gtk2.x86_64 0:1.4.99.20121109-9.fc17
ibus-gtk3.x86_64 0:1.4.99.20121109-9.fc17
ibus-libs.x86_64 0:1.4.99.20121109-9.fc17
Last working version prior to upgrade:
ibus.x86_64 0:1.4.99.20120428-1.fc17
ibus-gnome3.x86_64 0:1.4.99.20120428-1.fc17
ibus-gtk2.x86_64 0:1.4.99.20120428-1.fc17
ibus-gtk3.x86_64 0:1.4.99.20120428-1.fc17
ibus-libs.x86_64 0:1.4.99.20120428-1.fc17
How reproducible:
Every time.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Update to the above problematic version, broken arrow and nav keys, all
other keys *appear* to be working.
2. Test affected keys and see the down arrow is equivalent to the enter key and
the delete key acts as PrintScreen. All other non-functioning keys have
undefined behavior.
3. Use yum downgrade on the above selected packages and keyboard returns to
full working state.
Actual results:
Expected results:
Additional info:
This is affecting a remote NX session from one Fedora-17 box to another
Fedora-17 box. It does not *appear* to be affecting the client's keyboard
mapping from a native X session, only when run under a remote server freenx
session. Even with the updated version of the same packages on the client,
only downgrading them on the server that runs the NX software allows keyboard
to return to normal operation, no need to do the same on the client connecting
machine.

[Fedora-i18n-bugs] [Bug 887951] New: All input method framework except ibus can not autostart via imsettings in gnome-shell
by Red Hat Bugzilla
Product: Fedora
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=887951
Bug ID: 887951
Summary: All input method framework except ibus can not
autostart via imsettings in gnome-shell
Product: Fedora
Version: 18
Component: imsettings
Severity: unspecified
Priority: unspecified
Reporter: liangsuilong(a)gmail.com
Description of problem:
GNOME 3.6 integrated ibus as default input method. But imsettings in Fedora
does not start automatically after you log in gnome-shell session. It means
that you can not use other input method except ibus by default when you are
using gnome-shell.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
imsettings-1.5.0-2.fc18.x86_64
How reproducible:
1. Install fcitx, scim or gcin.
2. Turn off ibus integratiion via gsettings
3. Set other input method like fcitx or scim as default via imsettings-switch.
4. Log out or reboot the machine
5. Log in
6. Can not swtich the status of input method, like fcitx and scim.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. yum install fcitx
2. gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.keyboard active false
3. imsettings-swtich fcitx
4. service gdm restart or reboot the machine
Actual results:
ps aux | grep fcitx
Could not find any process of fcitx.
And,
imsettings-switch fcitx or imsettings-swtich -n -q -x
Fcitx comes back.
But users need to run imsettings-switch command once in every loginm in order
to enable their input method. I think it is not user-friendly.
Expected results:
I find out /etc/xdg/autostart/imsettings-start.desktop has value
AutostartCondition=GNOME3 if-session gnome-fallback. I think it is means that
imsettings does autostart except gnome-shell session.
In my opinon, whether imsettings-switch autostart or not, should not be based
on gnome session. When users launch in other DE or gnome-fallback mode,
imsettings-switch should start automatically. When users launch in gnome-shell
session, xdg autostart configure file should detect the value of
org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.keyboard active in gsettings. If the value is
true, imsettings-swtich should not autostart. If the value is false, imsettings
should be autostart

Description of problem:
I think "Typing Mode" (入力タイプ) and "Conversion Mode" (変換モード)
that appear in the IME menu for ibus-anthy are not frequently used
and could probably be removed from it. They should be set instead
from ibus-setup-anthy.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Turn on ibus-anthy
2. Click on ibus icon
Actual results:
Maybe too many entries.
Expected results:
Only frequently used features should be
included in the menu and others set from setup.
This will make it simpler for users.
