Excerpt from .xession-errors when starting Emacs
When starting Emacs from the Gnome menu, I got a ton of warnings in
.xsession-errors, including things like:
(imsettings-applet:2862): libimsettings-xim-WARNING **: Invalid entry [no
symbol]: <U17ff> : "ាំ"
(imsettings-applet:2862): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_boxed_copy: assertion
`src_boxed != NULL' failed
(imsettings-applet:2862): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_boxed_free: assertion
`boxed != NULL' failed
I wouldn't want to see any warnings if everything is working properly. A
complete log excerpt is attached.
This is with:
imsettings-0.105.1-2.fc10.x86_64
emacs-22.3-3.fc11.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%
Steps to Reproduce:
1. login as liveuser in live rawhide spin
2. logout
3. try to change lang/kbd
Actual results:
3. no autologin so hard to change lang/kbd specially if one does not know
"Other... -> liveuser".
Expected results:
autologin to be available as in F10.

The toolbar is somewhat odd for people who don't have long experience with
input methods, and don't expect naked, floating toolbars on their desktop. And
most of the functionality (at least the switching) is available from the
statusicon.
I propose to
- make all functionality available via the statusicon
- add a way to turn the toolbar off
