This means sssd is idle and just receiving heartbeat pings from the monitor, did you
attempt the login?
Btw the messages look like the debug logs, not the strace..

stracing the sssd processes might help, using this in the [domain] section:
command = strace -ff -o /tmp/sssd_be_strace /usr/libexec/sssd/sssd_be --debug-level=10

(You’d need to substitute
ipa.example.com <

domain, just see how the processes are invoked normally in systemctl status sssd)
