After some troubleshooting, it turned out to be an issue with the
permission of krb5.conf, after changing the permission it is working fine.

This means sssd is idle and just receiving heartbeat pings from the
monitor, did you attempt the login?
Btw the messages look like the debug logs, not the strace..
