Why is the PluginDeploymentScanner keeping the descriptors around?

unsure. they might be needed when it scans the directory periodically to 
see if anything changed? If you are worried about it, put some 
breakpoints in the their to see if/when those descriptors are referred 
to after the initial startup/deployment of the plugins.
