Al,
I finally took some time to review the patches you sent. Looking over
them, many things presented are great ideas.
I took the liberty to modify some of your ideas into my mockup at
http://sijis.fedorapeople.org/mockup/fpo/. (The mockup doesn't look
great, as FF's save didn't get everything, so I'm attaching the
patch.)
I do agree that the homepage does need more information to bring
attention to different parts of Fedora.
