Hello, I'm Laurent, I'm a beginner web developer, I've
been using fedora
for two years and I'd like to help. I speak mostly php, however i really
want to learn python and I would like to know how to proceed to help with
fedora websites.
I contributed two pictures for fedora 25, I'm glad the community voted for
my two pictures and now I'd like to do more . (Username: laurent1979)
(keeping in mind I'm a beginner)
Thank you,
Laurent Neveux
Hi Laurent,
we don't use PHP at all, but your skills will help you to become familiar
with our code easily.
If you want to take a look and help, you could follow these guidelines:
The best starting point would be our join page [1], where you should follow
the points step by step.
Python skills are welcome, because the sites are build with Python,
Html/CSS and the Genshi framework
for internationalization.
It would be a good idea taking a look at the bootstrap grid [2], because
there are many divs and classes in our
source files.
Finally, to get started, you need:
* to clone our repo. See [3] and join the web FAS group.
* start working on tickets, see easyfix [4] at the beginning or our issues
[5]. You can send your patches
there, or even better, you can file a Pull Request.
Please ask if you have any doubts (or just to say hello), writing to the
websites Mailing List or on IRC channel #fedora-websites,
located on the freenode server.
