Password complexity rules
by Rod MacPherson
Hi, I just read about the new fedora project password change, and the thing that caught my attention is your interesting password complexity rules. 9 char if using upper, lower, numbers and special chars, 20 chars otherwise.
I have never seen this type of complexity rule in action before, so the first thing that sprung to my mind is "what PAM plugins are they using to accomplish this, and where can I get that?"
I'm sure other security professionals would love to try this, but the standard modules in most Linux distros only allow very simple min length, min complexity settings, not an if complexity >= this, min_length == min1, else min_length == min2
I'd like to do a write-up about this for infosecisland.com which can include an interview with someone at fedoraproject if you like, but doesn't have to.

Request to join web group
by Soumya Deb
Hi guys,
I am Soumya Deb (prefer to go with my FOSS alias "Debloper"), a free
software evangelist & (wannabe) contributor of many open-source projects.
I want to contribute to Fedora's web-development projects & thus want to be
a member of web group. To demonstrate my web-design/development skill, I'd
like to request you to have a look at one of my side project's
site<http://khurrandrome.samsaptak.org/>or at my
resume <http://soumyadeb.net/resume/> (not for the primary purpose of a
resume :P for the HTML5 semantics & layout).
If these are insufficient, then please hit me back - I'll try to demo
whatever might be necessary for it.
Thanks & regards,

FUDCon Pune Website is now up - fudcon.in
by Saleem Ansari
Hi all!
We are thrilled to announce that FUDCon Pune website [1] is up and running now.
Below are some FAQs:
How do I register for FUDCon Pune 2011?
* Visit the website [1] and login via OpenID or register for a new account.
Once you have logged in to the site, goto EVENTS SIGNUP -> FUDCON PUNE.
Then click Sign Up.
Can I use my existing FAS account as OpenID login?
* Yes, to login via FAS OpenID login, you follow the instructions on
Fedora OpenID page.
I would like to present or talk at FUDCon Pune. How do I do that?
* Thats simple indeed. After you have logged in to the website [1], you can
create a session [3], stating the details about your talk or session.
Behind the scenes, there has been a lot of work involved to bring this website
to good shape. However there might still be more things that we can do.
So do let us know on how we can improve it. Your suggestions are valuable.
Best regards,
/tuxdna

Scrap that, I forgot I can't do anything this Saturday, sorry.
We can either have the meeting without me, or move it to Monday at the same
time.
What do you prefer?

Website team meeting - This Saturday.
by Elad Alfassa
Hi everyone.
I didn't get many responses to the whenisgood page, but from what I did get,
I decided that the best time will be 17:30 UTC, this Saturday.
If you did respond to the whenisgood page, but this hour is unsuitable for
you, it might be possible that you forgot to set your timezone properly,
please tell me so we can create a new whenisgood page and start again.
Meeting Agenda:
1. F16 website slide updates.
thanks,
