Choosing slide contents for F17's release - in this mailing list thread
by Elad
We decided not to have a meeting.
Instead, we are going to have this discussion here.
So, we now have 4 slides,
1. Main (download) slide (the design team should supply a new background for
it)
2. Feature slide. Right now it's about gnome 3. before that it was about
auto-installing printer drivers. Which f16 feature we should use for this
slide?
3. A spin slide, where we feature one of our spins. Which spin we should
show for F16?
4. A community slide, with a group photo. I suggest using a photo from
FUDCon Milan.
What do you think?

Possibility of Changing groups on join-fedora
by Tim Flink
We've been trying to brainstorm ideas on how to increase the number of
proventesters [1] and one idea was to separate out testing from OS
Development on the join-fedora page [2].
Our rationale behind this is that a lot of the testing that needs to be
done doesn't really require the ability to code or a deep understanding
of Fedora.
For example, a proventester should be installing (at least some)
packages from updates-testing and giving karma to those updates after
some use. Ideally, that person would file a new bug or add a report to
an existing bug for any issues encountered but a vast majority of the
updates don't have immediate issues.
Our hope is that we might be able to attract more proventesters if it
was described as a little less technical than packaging or BugZapping.
By attracting more members, we would be able to have better coverage of
packages for Fedora releases and not end up with so many packages in
updates-testing for months before they can be pushed to stable.
So, our questions are:
- Would it be possible to change the groups on join-fedora?
- If so, is there a process for proposing the change?
Thanks,
Tim

The Tao of Topics Part 1
by Walter Giraitis
You may have spell checked this article
<http://planet.fedoraproject.org/>but someone should have proofread it
for grammatical errors. The error
should be obvious below
Paragraph 2. *In contrast to the vast majority of history, today
ansignificant percentage of humans can read and write.

Websites update for GA
by Kévin Raymond
Hi translators,
Today we have updated the transifex.net websites resources. Changes,
are:
* http://fedoraproject.org website is building (hourly) from the "fedoraproject.org f16-beta branch" transifex resource;
* http://spins.fedoraproject.org website is building (hourly) from the "spins-fedoraproject-org-f16-beta" transifex resource;
* http://stg.fedoraproject.org is going to be built (daily) from the "fedoraproject.org master branch" transifex resource;
* http://spins.stg.fedoraproject.org is going to be built (daily) from the "spins.fedoraproject.org" transifex resource.
Those changes are here to provide staging websites that would be pushed at
the Fedora 16 release time (November, the 8th). Please, correct
translations by that time. Easy to remember, resources flagged as Urgent
(red flag) are the staging ones, you should use the first two resources only
to correct typos.
Spins website will have new pages in order to welcome newly created
spins!
Happy translating,
and please, let us know if you find any typo.
Best Regards,
