I can add Ultra 60 as "tested, known working" to the list. I plan to try an
Ultra 1 when I get the chance.
If you need any help installing FC12 you'd be best off looking at the last
month or so of activity on this list first but it is pretty much as simple
as burning an ISO and hitting Stop+A followed by boot cdrom at the
OpenProm. From there on in it's pretty much your standard linux/x86 style
install.
Append "updates=http://sparc.koji.fedoraproject.org/updates.img" to the
SILO boot prompt for the revised image with fixed partitioning.
Post-install, disable prelink and initially at least, you'll probably need
selinux off too. That's it.
none of the above is necessary with the beta iso. I
need to announce its
existance.
anaconda in Beta has the partitioning fix, prelink disabled and a kernel thats
ok with selinux in enforcing mode.
Any major problems then ask on the list or email me directly - if we
don't
disturb the devs they'll have more time left for hacking away on FC13 :)
please keep it on the list so we know what issue to fix/doccument work arounds
for.
