Thanks for your help
I tried to boot a FC15 beta live CD. Unfortunately it complained of an
over temp 127C and shut down during boot. So I would say it also has
the issue.
Looking at the PC Health screen in the BIOS is only list two
temperatures which correspond to temp1 and temp2 in the lm_sensors
status display. So the BIOS does not report temp3. So either its extra
hardware that the linux kernel sees but the BIOS does not display or was
never intended to display, or it is some other hardware the linux
kernel misinterprets as a thermal diode. Not good if Linux randomly
shuts down due to ghost hardware. So a bug in either case.
I have logged a call with the motherboard support The EliteGroup. I
would like to hear what they say about the mystery thermal diode.
I'll report it as a bug also. It looks like others have reported this
issue with ECS mother boards at least once in FC12 and another Ubunto.
Thanks
