I think it depends on which desktop environment you use. I am currently
running gnome, and the PackageKit application does not have the
capability to add new repos. One thing that can be done is another package
that installs and enables your repo, then the user use yum or PackageKit
or whatever he want to install the packaged gnumed components.
Here is a citation from the PackageKit help:
At this time, PackageKit does not offer a way to add new repositories
to your system. It only allows you to enable or disable known
repositories. However, it is often possible to make a new repository known
to PackageKit by installing a package with the necessary information.
These are usually called (foo)-release, where foo is the name of the
repository.
It means that you could provide a gnumed-repo.rpm on the website. By
opening this file, the user will trigger the package manager to install the
repo.
Ah. good to know.
ps: I just saw that the gnumed-devel list is a recipient, but I did
