Witty Talk Bubbles
by Michael Beckwith
Going based off of what I was able to partake in with the meeting
earlier today, here's what I've come up with so far for my assigned
task: witty talk bubbles. Most are what I thought of while at work.
- Give Fedora to each other
- Be Fedora to each other
- Fedora, not another ball and chain
- I'd like the Fedora OS, hold the proprietary. That'll be $0.00, please
download ahead (think of this one in the sense of fast food drive thru)
- Fedora: Open 24/7/365
- Blimey, they just left this Fedora booty out here in the open. Arr Matey!
- All FOSS and NO proprietary don't make Fedora a dull OS
- Fedora, the other OS
- Ninja Fedora always gets what he's doing, seen
- Fedora #, one step closer to World Domination (insert Fedora version #
for whichever we're at, at the time)
- Fedora, not another closed OS
- Blue: a color of freedom
- Fedora, powering robots since 2007
- Fedora, fighting robots since 2007
- Use the Fedora, _____ (insert name)
- I'z in your OS, opening your source (think LOLCats)
- I love the smell of FOSS in the morning
- Fedora + FOSS = BFF
- Trying to lose that proprietary weight? Slim down with Fedora, 100% FOSS.
Feel free to disagree, laugh at, enjoy, criticize, or revise any of the
above, and suggest new ones.

Re: naming discussion for Fedora community grid project (previously aka Fedora@Home)
by John Adams
Darn ... I'm really sorry to hear that. In the future, we may want to consider narrowing down to 3-5 options, clearing them first, and opening it up for wider opinions only on the available names. Just a thought ...

Hi, we just completed a trademark search on "Sleepwalker," and it turns
out that it's already being used for software. So, we're going to have
to go with a different name. I've asked for searches on the next
highest vote-getters, "Turbine" and "Sandman."

OpenStreetMap
by Robert M. Albrecht
Hi,
struck me while editing some streets in OpenStreetMap.
OpenStreetMap does allow anybody to add new attributes (tags) to a place /
objects / ...
We can define a tag LinuxUser / FedoraUser ... and get a map of users.
Could be great for finding other people, user groups, generating maps,
visualizing mirror servers.

Re: Offer to help editors?
by Kara Schiltz
Hello all,
Corporate communications has established a relationship with several of
the editors listed below as we're always reaching out to them with the
latest Fedora and Red Hat news. I'm happy to help in contacting any of
these folks. I'll be in touch with several editors toward the beginning
of May to line up Fedora 9 pre-brief interviews with Paul the week prior
to the F9 launch.
Best,
Kara

Update Banners
by Diego Escobar
Hi...
I was looking for banners about Fedora to use on Web sites or blogs.
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Marketing/Banners
I think, it should be updated with some logos or banners according to the
new Fedora´s theme (Sulphur) and I would like a direct link from
http://fedoraproject.org/
Why? I was checking the Fedora Counter
(http://fedoraproject.org/es/counter) and
so much people are using it on their sites, so is good idea a link from
http://fedoraproject.org/ like "Spread Fedora" where people can use banners
and logos "up to date". And why not...? add wallpapers and screensavers...
What do you think?
Regards

Fedora goes to a community-dominated board
by Rahul Sundaram
Hi
http://lwn.net/Articles/279059/rss
http://digg.com/linux_unix/Fedora_goes_to_a_community_dominated_board
"Fedora project leader Paul Frields has announced a change in the way
the Fedora board is elected; as of the upcoming election, five of the
nine seats will be elected by the community, while four will be
appointed by Red Hat. So Red Hat will no longer select a majority of the
board. "This is an issue I've been advocating over the past couple of
weeks, and I'm delighted to be able to make this change following my
first release as Fedora Project Leader. I look at this as a significant
step in the evolution of the Board and Fedora's governance overall. It's
worth noting that the Fedora leader (who must still be a Red Hat
employee) retains veto power over board decisions. "
