I use live media creator in the Lorax package to make my livecd's nowadays.

livecd-creator is currently dead in Fedora 25... or at least that is my
understanding with regards to the current version in the stock repos. The
primary developers prefer to maintain a more robust tool named
livemedia-creator mainly because livecd-creator needed to be ported to
Python 3 and converted to use dnf. Luckily a few other folks have picked
up the code and done that work and have a Copr repo. They hope to get
their changes upstream to replace the current version of livecd-creator
rather than having a forked-with-a-different name package. Not sure how
long that is going to take.

that and the fact that the spin kickstart package also got updated fairly
recently. Using the most up-to-date version?
Yes, this is the most up-to-date version as of yesterday. What does not
make a lot of sense to me is that the LXDE spin exists on Fedora 25 so
something must have created it. Not the ks files that are already there?

livecd-creator will (probably) fail further into the build process.
Switching to livemedia-creator isn't that hard but it does take some
effort. Hopefully the move to an updated livecd-creator won't take too
long.
Thank you again. I will probably wait for an updated version because I am
not sure how to handle the kickstart files.
Best wishes,
Ranjan
