I think almost all aspects of my setup can be scripted. (one of the nice
things about linux). Can I use scripting also for live cd mode? Or is it
something I can do only for installation?

Yes. But I am not sure how easily you can do it. You can have a script
that
runs at the end of install into file system image that can do whatever.
If you can script your setup then it shouldn't be too bad.
