Sorry, just discovered that thread in spam-folder.
After first run of lincity-ng my monitor flipped telling me that
95.4kHz /
60Hz is out of range. Since then this user account is unusable as it returns
to this out of range error every time I login to KDE.
Lincity should not be able to do that. I guess is selects some
unsupported fullscreen mode. Maybe Lincity was saved to your session
and is started automatically every time you log in.
I searched through xorg.conf files but could not find where
this incorrect settings could be found. Other accounts were not
affected. I had to make a new account to be able to allow for
email and browsing access. But I want back my own account as it
has a lot of precious other features I don not want to miss out
on.
If you can't access the user's autostart settings (no idea
how KDE works) try to change to windowed mode by editing
~/.lincity-ng/userconfig.xml and set fullscreen="no" in the
video-Section. Or simply uninstall Lincity NG.
How do I restore the incorrect monitor settings used by KDE since
lincity-ng
messed them up?
I don't think lincity-ng is able to change KDE settings. Does
uninstalling lincity-ng help?
Also, let me know if this should be filed as a bug?
Yeah, maybe running windowed mode by default is a safer option. But
on the other hand games are kind of expected to run full screen. Also
switching to some unsupported resolution seems broken.
