The airport seems to recommend people to use trains, but no doubt ymmv - I am

That's true. OTOH, they don't mention that bus transit will be
disrupted, except:
* route of bus 292 will be changed within the city area 26-29 July;
* 31 July from 14:00 to 19:00 (2pm-7pm) the bus 292 will not go to the airport;
* the night bus 902 will cruise every 20 minutes at night 30/31 July;
* bus 208 will not be changed;
* the location of the bus stop near the airport has been changed until 3 Aug:

(although this matters only for those who have been in Krakow Airport before
and may expect the bus stop to be at the same place where it was before).
Apparently extra airport trains will running during the WYD period
to
compensate for increased traffic/visitors.

That's true, the trains will cruise every 15 minutes (instead of
30 minutes) and also every 1 hour at night (normally they don't
cruise at night).
(The pope is arriving today (Wed this week)
That's true.
and leaving tomorrow (Thu)
That's not true unless you mean leaving for few hours and
coming back to Krakow the same day. Pope Francis leaves on
Sunday afternoon...
so that should not affect Flock.)
... so definitely will affect Flock, especially those arriving on
Sunday but also on Monday. 1.5 million pilgrims will not leave
immediately so the town will be enormously crowded even the next day.
