The Canadian side is nicer because you can look back and get a better
view of the falls. From the US side, you look down from the top of them
(or take a tour to down below). On the US side, I think it's definitely
worth going to the "Cave of the Winds" tour, which isn't a cave at all,
although you access it through an elevator and tunnel. That gets you
down below in the spray from the falls.
Going to the Canadian side might be problematic for international
visitors -- I'd hate for someone to cross and then have trouble getting
back in for whatever reason.
Yup, do not want any trouble. But thanks to PyCon I still have my Canada
visa :)
