WebRTC from Flock to DebConf - any volunteers?
by Daniel Pocock
The final day of Flock in Rochester, USA is also the first day of
DebConf in Heidelberg, Germany.
DebConf will have a talk[1] about Real-time Communication (RTC)
technologies, including WebRTC, at 17:00 Central European Summer Time,
which is 11:00 Eastern US.
Both events are expecting big bandwidth-hungry crowds, but if there is
enough bandwidth, it would be really interesting to make a live WebRTC
session between fedrtc.org and rtc.debian.org as part of my talk.
If the session doesn't work at that time, we could also try something
later in the day, possibly giving Flock attendees an opportunity to
remotely gatecrash the Debian birthday[2]
Is there anybody who would like to collaborate with me on this?
If you are not sure and you just want to test it, you should be able to
just login at https://fedrtc.org and call somebody else who is logged in
at the same time. As described in my blog[3], it uses OpenID with FAS
to help you create a special password just for SIP, WebRTC and soon
XMPP. You can try reaching me (pocock) on IRC if you can't find anybody
else to test with.
Of particular importance, the technology itself is fully federated and
the software is all packaged. The fedrtc.org domain is running on a
CentOS 7 + EPEL7 box while the rtc.debian.org site is running on a
Debian wheezy system.

Kubernetes demo
by Aditya Patawari
Hi Guys,
The kubernetes demo which I was going to do for the Project Atomic
talk seems to malfunction due to a cpu spike when it is connected to
the projector. I am going to do just the demo part again tomorrow
during the lightening talks which is scheduled to happen at 4:30 pm
(provided, I get a slot for the lightening talk). Please drop by if
you would like to check out the demo.

Flock, are you up for an epic geek throwdown?
by Ruth Suehle
Do you think you have the broadest geek knowledge at Flock? Can you answer
questions about Steam, Star Trek, comics, AND Linux? (And a whole lot more?)
If you think you've got the trivia knowledge, come by the registration desk
or email me (off-list) to volunteer as tribute--er, I mean to play. This
trivia smackdown will take place tonight during game night at 9 p.m.

Found a world travel adapter I have no use for
by Miro Hrončok
Hi,
I found a world travel adapter for power socket.
You can insert it into European, British, North American and
Australian/Chinese types of socket. You can insert British, North
American and Australian/Chinese types of plugs into it.
You cannot insert European plug into it, so it has no use for me.
Anyone who would have use for it, I can give it to you on Flock.

Schedule export has hours messed up
by Marcin Juszkiewicz
Hi
As usual I wanted to import conference schedule into Google Calendar.
Flock uses sched.org which allows to do that. So far all is good.
But when events are imported then all are shifted by 3 hours.
Check http://flock2015.sched.org/all.ics - 'The state of Fedora' talk
starts at 16:00 GMT which is 12:00 local.
I will fetch personal ics, change what is needed and import but then
lose synchronization with online one.

Flock arrival and Wednesday info (wifi password in here!)
by Ruth Suehle
SHUTTLE
---------
For those of you still arriving, remember the Hyatt has a shuttle. Airport
pick-up may be provided upon request and is based upon availability between
the hours of 6am -11pm.
When you arrive to Rochester, please call 585-546-1234 or use the courtesy
telephones by the baggage claim area for pick-up.
For departure shuttles, please contact the Front Desk when at the hotel for
availability and to schedule a departure.
REGISTRATION
------------
We'll open the registration desk at 8 a.m. on Thursday morning. If you
don't get your badge before the keynote starts, don't worry--you can get it
and your swag bag later.
If you meet people who didn't register, feel free to send them by for a
badge. (But alas, no t-shirt or swag. That's the bonus of registering!)
WIFI
-----
The most important information! Wifi for the conference will be “Hyatt
Conference” and the password is flock15.
SUBSIDIZED ROOMS
----------------
If your room is subsidized, you will not have to pay for it. It will be
directly billed to us. However, you will need to present a credit card at
check-in for incidentals. (This means in case you order room service or
movies--Flock doesn't pay for any of that!)
FOOD AND BREAKS
----------------
I always want to know about food, so you can always expect I'll keep you
updated on it.
We will have coffee breaks at 10:30 on Wednesday and Thursday with some
light snacks, sponsored by ARM.
Wednesday's lunch will be a spinach salad with strawberries and pecans,
herb-crusted chicken with risotto and asparagus, and a dessert. They are
also aware of our vegetarians and vegans and should have an option for you.
(I'm checking on what that is, so I should know by the time you get here in
the morning.)
At 3:15, we'll have a cupcake break sponsored by Rackspace. (I know you all
like cupcakes!)
If our lunches and evening events leave you still hungry, there are plenty
of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
GAME TIME!
------------
Our game night will be Wednesday night from 9-11 p.m. in the Main Street
Gallery where we have lunch. We'll have drink tickets for a couple of
drinks, and you're welcome to continue paying the cash bar after that as
long as you like. Well, until 11.

Flock to group chat in Telegram
by Jiri Eischmann
Hi,
I've created a group chat for Flock attendees who are using Telegram to
communicate and share info: http://bit.ly/flock15tg
We've used it during GUADEC and it turned out to be very popular and
useful. Historically, IRC channels are used for this, but considering
how many people are using smartphones and that at conferences you often
get connected/disconnected, IRC's not ideal.
If we have an official IRC channel, there should be a way to sync the
channel with the group chat via a Telegram bot, but I haven't had time
to look at it. But if someone wants to explore this idea, I'll be happy
to add the bot to the chat.
