Sorry for the slow response! (for some reason, I seem to not have
received quite some trac update notifications since my last comment)
There are at least 3 icons, the green, yellow and red ones. But they
basically look the same as the green one you found (gopenvpn.png).
It would be great if it would be something which would make a mental
connection to the official OpenVPN logo. But it probably shouldn't be
completely identical, as this is not an official GUI for OpenVPN on Linux.
I like the "drawing.png", as that's somewhat closer. But if it could be
somewhat "network inspired", it would probably fit even better. The
"u3.png" feels more like a package-manager thing to me.
But lets think about those three colours. When gopenvpn is idle (no
connections are made), it is today a red icon in the notification panel.
When it is connecting, a yellow (blinking! ugh!) icon appears instead.
And on successful connection, it's a green icon. So to have this kind of
signalling effect would really be great and more user friendly. I would
probably prefer something else than a blinking icon, tbh.
And in addition, a program icon is needed as well. Of course one of the
three others can be reused, unless they are too connection centric. But
feel free to knock yourself out on this one :)
If I'm not responding for a while again, please feel free to grab me on
#openvpn, #openvpn-devel or #fedora-devel on FreeNode ... I'm dazo there.
