Oops, sorry, I think I misunderstood what you meant about the custom
HTML - never mind.
I just filed an issue against the Community Blog theme to try to fix the
problem. I tagged you in the issue, but you can find it here:

Hopefully ryanlerch can review it and implement the fix for centering
images. It seems like it must have been something recent that broke them
because they were working as expected not too long ago.
I also adjusted the size just now! Should be all good to go for that
