We should probably handle any errors raised by the storage thread
here.
threadMgr.wait() obviously can't be used so maybe we need to change .get() to
check for errors if the object doesn't exist. eg.
What would we do with storage thread errors here? From here, you are
either going back to:
(1) The hub, where you'll be able to see that there's an error; or
(2) The storage spoke, where you'll be able to see that there's an
error.
