That does not solve the problem. After doing all those removes and
running install again, I got the exactly the same error.
What is the yum/rpm command to install all those missing libraries?
yum
Shouldn't the installation guide be more user friendly to cover these
kind of issues?
It usually is.
I just installed openLDAP and it was smooth.
Great!
Isn't that this kind of issues will easily turn away new users?
Indeed.
BTW, yum repolist output:
# yum repolist
Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit
repo id repo name status
epel Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux 5 - enabled
fedora Fedora 9 - i386 enabled
updates Fedora 9 - i386 - Updates enabled
updates-newkey Fedora 9 - i386 - Updates Newkey enabled
epel and
fedora? I didn't think they could co-exist. At any rate,
Fedora 9 and 10 are no longer supported, and Fedora 11 is quickly
approaching end of life.

Just try to remove the 389-* package and try again installing it.
yum remove 389
yum remove 389-*
yum remove 389*
And again try the command:
yum install 389*

It says that it is already installed (see below), "yum install
389-*" still gives me the same errors.
# rpm -ivh

I am following the installation guide to do a new
install of 389 DS on fedora 9, and here is the link:
http://directory.fedoraproject.org/wiki/Install_Guide.
But got a bunch of error of missing dependencies (see
below).
What should I do to solve these errors?
I don't see anything in the installation guide talking
about this kind of errors.
yum install 389-ds
