Patch Set 2:

fscimonce, I don't think nbio has any effect on sysfs. It's not the same path as file IO. It's not that the kernel is actually sending "- - -" these are just parameters for the function. Internally it sends requests and waits.

In iscsiadm we decided the best way to do it was to fork iscsiadm so that it doesn't get stuck in D state. IOProcess seams like the safest solution. This kind of stuff is what it's built to do.
