Sorry, the last comment was wrong. The situation is that the RHEL6 machine with the with the original patch applied *doesn't* work, vdsClient hangs as Andrey described.
With the original pach plus this patch it vdsClient works correctly.
The communication from the engine does work correctly in both cases.
So I can verify this change in RHEL6.
