It turned out that the friendly people running out builder were able to
hack the Makefiles and switch the el5 repo to building from the 1.9.x
branch. (Thanks Nalin and John!)

To sum it up: SSSD has *dropped* support for RHEL5 in the master
branch that will become upstream 1.10. The RHEL5 nighlies are now
being built from the 1.9.x branch and will continue in the foreseeable
future.
