Please open a bug. I'll look into ways to mitigate this problem.

The problem is that we have all of our subdirectories designed as
independent autoconf projects. I may look into converging the
libreplace, server and sss_client configure scripts (and by extension,
the m4 directories) into one configure project, but the common directory
needs to retain its individuality since we intend to split out those
libraries at some point.
