No, nothing like that. Up until 0.5.0 we used a different config file
format you can still see in the old HOWTOs[1]. We changed the format in
0.6.0 to what we refer to as "version 2". If we ever change the format
again, it will be version 3, etc.

SSSD now checks this parameter during startup to see if the version of
the config file is the correct one and aborts if not.

The "config_file_version" parameter just needs to be documented, I'll
submit a patch. Thanks for noticing.
