The number of confusing installation steps, servers and possible workflows for install/upgrade/ha/database(relational and Cassandra) configurations where a user would benefit from contextual information (and/or pre-condition testing) seems to heavily suggest a graphical installer. Not having one leads to lengthy explanations that the user is not interested in reading anyway and us inventing weird installation work flows that confuse and raise the barrier to entry. Is there a simple explanation why we didn't go that route or why we don't do that now?

A graphical installer would most probably help in some cases. But IIRC
most of users asked for a command line installer as it's far more
convenient for admins to deal with.
