If you updated libvirt (from 0.2.3 to 0.3.0), make sure you don't have a libvirt_qemud running, if yes kill it and restart the libvirtd service, then you should have a libvirtd daemon running instead. This may or may not be the cause, hard to tell...

I don't know how or why but the other day I noticed from another error after downgrading libvirt that the package qemu was missing..... so I installed that, it worked. upgraded to the latest libvirt and libvirt-python and they work.
