I'm going to create separate FC-6 and F-7 folders in web/static/ so we can work on the current front-page and the future page in real time, with minimal confusion. We'll want to port changes from one to the other, in some cases, and not in other cases.
I'll get it all setup then let mmcgrath now, without tagging LIVE, so I don't hork up the main pages. Once we reconfigs, the idea is this:
web/static/FC-6 -> LIVE => fedoraproject.org/ web/static/F-7 -> LIVE => fedoraproject.org/_/
So, once ready, work in each location tagged LIVE updates the appropriate place. Then we can get the true static page we need for the release all perfected.

Sounds good to me. Can we just use "f6" and "f7" instead? :)

There are different usages in place, but we are trying to follow what I believe is the method used in the software-side of CVS. There is a value in this consistency.

Agree. We need consistency. :)

+1. This makes many CVS tools, such as other projects' Makefile.common collections, more portable, and eventually I could see those things modularized/updated globally.
