Hi!
tomorrow I would like to discuss:
- the abysmal review condition of the rest api patches
- vdsm status for ovirt-3.1 I know networking requires a heavy cherry-pick from upstream. There is probably more. Everybody invited to care for vdsm bugs that blocks Bug 822145 - Tracker: oVirt 3.1 release.
- plenty pep8 patches applied, but there is plenty more.
- Patches with pending verification. I see 11 of those now http://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/q/status:open+project:vdsm+verified%253D0+coderevi... Please do not send your patches out to the cold and desert them there. Pet them, nag folks to review and verify them, and rebase (only!) when required.
- Your issue comes here (or above, if it's more urgent).
Regards, Dan.

Hello Dan, The India dial in ... India Dial-In #: 000-800-650-1533
never works.. so I am unable to connect to this call from home. I cannot use the other India number as that is not supported for my telecom carrier.
Who can help in resolving this issue. The above number always results in a 'engage' tone. It never asks for conf. id.
From the US I am getting the conf number is invald?

I suppose arch@ovirt.org (CCed) could be more helpful in this regard.

This is a regular conference call?
Is it time to move this to IRC instead? It's the hip thing, all the kids are doing it!

Yes. It's mentioned in http://www.ovirt.org/wiki/Meetings#Meeting_Time_and_Place

I actually prefer Alexander Graham Bell's new invention.

Sadly, Mr. Bell's invention is often a high barrier for participation in open source projects. :(

There are plenty of callers from the US.
Please re-verify that you have typed 842-597-391-5 with the speaker off - sometimes the operator is confused by the echo.

Hello, I faced this problem AGAIN ... when i dial the india dial-in, it provides some info and then cuts the call there is no way i can join, as it does not ask for conf. ID. !

e.g. http://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/191/ should be rebased

Ryan: would like to see Gal's commits in Gerrit. I think it's in Gerrit-2.5. Hopefully we can upgrade soon. Itamar?
Ayal: suggest to separate +2 and push rights in Gerrit. This will help in prolifirating +2, while maintaining code coherence. Danken: Fine by me, we'd need the help of our Gerrit master, Itamar.
Federico: suggests to not rebase on top of master branch, but only on top of your topic branch. this does not clear the grades of untouched commits.
Saggi: crab-rpc still out. Danken: I have few non-blocking comments to it. The problem is that it sits unverified.
Adam: Wants to formalize the content of vm.create params dictionary and similar elemets of the API.
Deepack: please review libstorage writeup. Saggi, Adam: will do. Deepack: is there an irc bot logging #vdsm? No but I'd love if you configure one ;-) Deepack to research if there's an available bot to do this. It can be run on a private server, and then post to somewhere like you.fedorapeople.org.
See you in two weeks!
Dan.

we don't have to wait to 2.5. we are waiting for someone to test 2.4.1 and give their blessing so we'll upgrade to it (i.e., we'll backport it to 2.4.1) previously, attila and eyal did this. attila/eyal - can you upgrade some server to 2.4.1 and test for a few days for sanity so we'll upgrade ovirt's gerrit?

just send me the list of +2 people.

We've created an ovirt-3.1 branch to the vdsm project in gerrit.ovirt.org. If you have a solution to a blocking bug, please send the patch to the master branch. After it is accepted to master, send it again to the ovirt-3.1 branch (using the same Change-Id). This way, we can stabilize vdsm for the ovirt-3.1 release while continuing upstream development in earnest.
I trust Federico to create a Fedora build from that branch from time to time, to help beta testers verify that the bugs are indeed fixed.
Regards, Dan.

Since my IRC client already logs them I can easily publish them. http://ekohl.nl/vdsm has logs since december 2011. Currently manually synchronized and I'll set up a cronjob which does copies the logs. They've been anonymized by 's/ [[^[]*]/:/' so IPs shouldn't be in there.

Thanks Ewoud. Can you publish this link on the VDSM main wikipage or create a new page on the ovirt wiki ? Somewhere so that folks googling would know... maybe its a good idea to publish this permanently as part of #vdsm topic ?
