There may be something usable on this thread:

Hi,
In rhythmbox.
* Select podcast you want to delete old file(s) from.
* Like in file manager select all the files you wish to delete. [1]
* Right click and select "Delete".
* A dialog will appear. Select "Delete episode and File".
Wash, rinse and repeat. ;-)
[1] Holding down CTRL and clicking on each episode you want to delete
or hold down SHIFT then click on the first podcast episode you wish to
delete in a continuous group and then the last one.
Regards
Phil
