Try booting with xdriver=vesa or xdriver=nouveau. (The default is nv.) The
proprietary driver can be added only after installation, you cannot use it
for the live CD.

Kevin, no such luck with either. The system will stop and just flash a cursor just before
F10 would normally load to a splash screen.
Just to make sure that I'm doing this correctly, because I'm pretty new to this.
I'm hitting tab at the boot screen and just typing what you suggested.
