You have to be careful about creating SVCDs instead of VCDs. Some
DVD players will not handle SVCDs, and I guess some programs also
have problems.
OK. I'll bear that in mind. The clip I experimented with was shot in poor
light, so is somewhat grainy. I assumed that VCD would give even lower
quality than SVCD, so I'll have to remember whether other family members
would be likely to borrow the disk.
I had to add a pluging before Xine would play SVCDs.
(I don't remember what plugin - I added a bunch at once...)
