It's probably a firewall setting on system "A" that's blocking access.
Compare the settings of "B" (which works) to those of "A" (which
doesn't). Make sure ICMP in/out is permitted for your local network on
"A" (that's "ping"). For printing, HP tends to use TCP port 9100
for
their "JetDirect" protocol, but also can use "ipp" (TCP/UDP port
631).
I can't see why the firewall should suddenly start blocking a specific
address, that is the printers IP-address. Besides A can ping all devices
that B can except the printer. In A's firewall, there is no rule that is
specific for the printer IP-address.
I have been using this printer/scanner for a over two years from machine
A without a problem.
I would appreciate more tips.
