Envelope please: KVM, psmouse.proto=imps
I am guessing you are running with a KVM switch, possibly a Belkin 4
port KVM. (You really should turn off the web cam.... :) )
Several of us have had similar problems. One fix that seems to work for
most people is to add psmouse.proto=imps as a kernel parameter.
Go to /boot/grub/grub.conf and add that to the end of the kernel line.
Reboot and it should be resolved.

This addition to the kernel line helped me out. Thank you.
Setup:
5 computers connected to Belkin Omni View PRO 8-port
Belkin KVM Console F1DC100P
3 of the machines are brand new, identical hardware.
1 has Win2K Adv. Server installed
1 has FC1 installed
1 has FC2 installed
Computer with FC2 lost sync with the touchpad/mouse when I switched away
and back to it. Adding that kernel parameter kept the touchpad in sync.
Many Thanks.
