Did that. Also tried booting into rescue mode from the installer, and
then explicity re-installing the boot loader on the external disk.
Neither were any help.
Make sure that the MBR compatibility flag is set on the GPT partition
table. I have found that the Fedora live images don't boot on one or
two laptops, but didn't have the time to really investigate.
