Well, I understand although disagree. If one doesn't want upgrades, there are other systems like Debian stable. Besides upgrades aren't mandatory, as ToddandMargo said, if you don't want them simply turn them off. Last but not least, why do you need to reinstall? Upgrading from one version to another is as smooth as it can be. I don't see reinstalling as a pain, in any average computer will take only few minutes, but well, it's understandable that you may not want to go through it. But what reinstalling for? Why not just upgrading the system? Am I missing something?
