Yes, I know, and I've done that years ago when I was first learning
Linux.  Haven't needed a spare account in years, as I've got things set
up the way I like and I'm not interested in experimenting.

Using Fedora qualifies as experimentation.   
 
Accounts with user=application_name and group=fedora, ... 
save time sanitizing posts to support forums and upstream
bug reports.
