Interesting. On my system (KDE/Konsole) the problem goes away when I change font
from "Monospace-Normal-14" to "Liberation Mono-Regular-14".
Or when I change font size (using "Monospace-Normal-14") bigger or smaller
using
CTLR/+ or CTRL/-.
So for me the problem is "solved"; but it looks like something is wrong with
the
font display both in Gnome-Terminal and Konsole.
Confirmed that your settings will cause the issue. FWIW, the underline can be seen
after typing if you grab the bottom border and expand the window.
