/proc/filesystems does not contain btrfs. Modprobe makes no difference.
'lsinitrd|grep btrfs' gives no output.
"btrfs check" on the device works, however "btrfs dev scan" fails
with:
failed to open /dev/btrfs-control
Google turned up

so I did a 'mknod /dev/btrfs-control c 10 234' but the scan still fails,
presumably because the module still isn't loaded, even after rebooting.
