LVM is setup by default as far as I can tell. I wouldn't have used it
at all except I wanted to change as little as possible from the default
install as I seem to be running into a problem.
dmraid shows no raidsets at all.
dmraid -d -g
No RAID disks

Hmm, still no RAID sets... okay. I can suggest you try no LVM and see
what "custom layout" says
