Tried to do it but it did not work out. The activity circles where not there at all! :)

In the end, I just created a new account, moved all the obvious stuff to the new account (no .files), removed the old account and renamed the new account just like the old one with same passwords and all.

Made sure all permissions where correct and life is good till next time :(

It sounds like you are on a different Activity (which is a copy of the
"Desktop" activity). Try clicking the red/blue/green dots next to the
k-menu/fedora menu icon and you should see your activities listed.
Click on the one that says "Desktop" and you should be back to normal.
