Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) is for the Video/Audio of the camera and port 554
while access to the admin setting is probably via the camera's built-in web interface on
port 88. (I'm not reading the manual at Zero Dark 4:30 :-) )

The "Real Time Streaming Protocol" also does not work in VLC. I have other video cameras that it handles as mjpg.video, but nothing I tried there will work with this Foscam c1.

Yes I get a web page but only the first page. It asks me to download a plugin, I did that and got:

Plugins are not found, Click me to download

And that produces:

# ll *.exe
-rw-rw-r--. 1 bobg bobg 1822616 Jan 26 11:41 IPCWebComponents.exe

I can't use that without using the copy of XP in my VM and I'm afraid to connect XP to the internet. And have not found how to make the downloaded file available to the VM.

Anyway the first page of that web-thing only shows user [admin], password [nothing], stream [set to Main], and Language [set to English]. It looks like I could add a password but dunno if it would actually do anything and for the moment it is a non-problem.

The static address I assigned in my dd-wrt router is 192.168.1.53.

Entering 192.168.1.53:88 in the firefox window brings up the internal web page.

Thanks, I appreciate "the work others do for me"
