Actually its:
# yum install compat-libstdc++
[root@asterix ~]# rpm -qf /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5
compat-libstdc++-8-3.3.4.2
You're right of course; I carelessly ran "rpm -qf
/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5" in a terminal window in which I'd ssh'ed into a
Red Hat 9 box and thus I got the wrong package. Whoops.
